Task 2

1) SORTING OF OBJECTS BASED ON COLOUR BY PICK AND PLACE     ROBOTIC ARM AND WITH CONVEYOR BELT ARRANGEMENT

Funded by: Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University

Investigator: Dharmannagari Vinay Kumar Reddy

Institution: Vidya Jyothi Institute of Technology and Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University

Research Paper: http://www.ijmerr.com/ijmerradmin/upload/ijmerr_52cd7526a7286.pdf

This research waas conducted by Dharmannagari Vinay Kumar Reddy was an autonomous robot that could sort objects on a moving conveyor belt by color. The purpose of this topic was to design a robot that could handle menial tasks on a mass scale, that a human would find too time-consuming. The robot itself is built as a robotic arm that can pick up the object depending on color and then move it to the respective area.

2) OBJECT SORTING SYSTEM USING ROBOTIC ARM

Funded by: Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College

Investigators: Vishnu R. Kale and V. A. Kulkarni

Institution:  Jawaharlal Nehru Engineering College

Research Paper: http://peastech.in/wp-content/uploads/2014/07/14015.pdf

This research was conducted in June 2013 in order to investigate how methods of color sorting robots and their mechanims of identifying different colors could be improved. The robotic arm picks up an object on a conveyor belt, takes a picture, and processes the color in real-time.

3) STUDY ON THE TARGET RECOGNTION AND LOCATION   TECHNOLOGY OF INDUSTRIAL SORTING ROBOT BASED ON                                         MACHINE VISION

Funded by: Biological Computation Project (BCP)

Investigators: Arturo Perez

Institution:  University of Alberta

Research Paper: http://ejournals.library.ualberta.ca/index.php/eureka/article/view/22825

Arturo Perez designed a simple industrial sorting robot in order to investigat the methods of identification that autonomous robots use in the biological Computation Project at the University of Alberta. He observed and recorded multiple ways in which a lego brick sorting robot behaves and can be operated in order to achieve the desired results, especially in comparison to Lemming, the same kind of lego sorting robot that utlizies ultrasonic sensors.
