Task 1

1) ZenRobotics

ZenRobotics is a private robotics company based in Helsinki, Finland, dedicated to improving recycling methods and building robots specifically designed to sort recyclable materials. In 2013, the company designed and created the world’s first robot that could sort through different trash efficiently and quickly; it is a robotic arm called the ZenRobotics Recycler. It goes even further than just sorting; it “reclaims valuable raw materials from waste with the help of advanced machine learning technology”. ZenRobotics has been the only company to successfully manufacture this kind of robotic arm because of the stressful environment of waste management plants where normal robot do not function the same.

2) MSS

MSS, a division of the CP Group, has designed numerous sorting robots, from eWaste, metal, plastic, glass, and more. The Cirrus is a high-resolution sorting system that uses optical sensors programmed to recognize and differentiate different papers, beverage cartons, and scrap metal.
